OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois and ZURICH, Switzerland – August 28, 2012 - VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI) (www.vasco.com), a leading software security company specializing in strong authentication products and services, announces today that WordPress (http://wordpress.org/), the largest self-hosted blogging tool worldwide, has incorporated MYDIGIPASS.COM on its platform. This enables bloggers to benefit from the added security the authentication service offers.
WordPress is a full content management system that can be used for free to create a website or blog site. The system is very active: already 54 million websites have been built with this web software, varying from small personal sites to websites run by large well-known organizations.
Every website owner can choose to protect access to his site with a combination of a username and static password, enabling him to offer exclusive content to a select crowd only. Thanks to MYDIGIPASS.COM, this access protection can be improved by implementing two-factor authentication. Moreover, users can be identified and authenticated. Because of the single-sign-on function offered by MYDIGIPASS.COM, users do not need to recreate a complete profile for every website that requires registration. The website owner on the other hand, does not need to worry about password encryption, password management or identity and password theft.
The integration of MYDIGIPASS.COM in a WordPress website is really straightforward. The website developer only has to download and install the plug-in, which is available for free on the WordPress plugin site or through developer.mydigipass.com. Then, he requests the MYDIGIPASS.COM connect button from the developer.mydigipass.com website. The plugin contains all necessary libraries and flows to configure and integrate the application into one’s own website. With the MYDIGIPASS.COM plug-in for WordPress, integration of two-factor authentication in those websites becomes an easy configuration, instead of a development. Every end-user can now add strong authentication to his precious websites.
“We are very proud to present WordPress as one of our latest integrators of MYDIGIPASS.COM,” says Jan Valcke, President and COO of VASCO Data Security. “WordPress gives its users the possibility to secure their blogs with strong authentication. An extra advantage for VASCO is that the system provides an enormous amount of potential users who can join the MYDIGIPASS.COM community. This community has been growing fast and we are pleased that WordPress contributes to this success.”
