Week In Review: Developer Community - April 10, 2017
Let's take a quick look at what happened for the week of April 10th in the Developer Community.
Uniqueness of Ids
There are many ids you can manually set in eSignLive, such as the signer/role, document, and signature/field ids. This comes in handy if you wish to retrieve data at a later point. Though, on an account level, the only id that has to be unique is the package id, which is generated on our side (cannot manually set this). Thus, when integrating eSignLive into your application, you can keep the same ids (document id for example) when creating transactions, since ultimately, the package ids are used to differentiate between each transaction. Note that any id that hasn't been explicitly defined by you will be automatically generated by eSignLive. Link to Post
Thank You Dialog Visibility
With eSignLive, you have the ability to customize the signing experience. One example of this is the Thank You dialog box that is displayed to all signers once they finish signing. By default, this is enabled on your account, for which you can customize the title, text, and logo by sending support a request. However, you can also have it turned off through the SDKs/API (shown how in the link below). Link to Post
Opt-Out vs. Decline
Decline or opt-out of a transaction? Both are essentially one and the same in terms of functionality. They both return the package/transaction to a "DRAFT" level status. However, they have different business implications. Decline basically means that you plan to sign but you want some changes in the transaction. On the other hand, opt-out means that you do not intend to sign.
